basically rest, stretching to keep the scar tissue from being tight and re-tearing, and therapeutic massage to keep the myofacial tissue from adhesion. i'm pretty sure i'll be down for the count for the next 2-4 weeks. i'm hoping for 2 but we'll see. i'm not running until i'm pain free so hopefully that's before 4 weeks.
i do if i actually go... i'm not a fan of paying for therapy. i joined the y and have opted for weight training and i did some stair climbing today. 45 flights in 10 minutes. pretty tame but thought you'd like that. lol!
Stair climbing is always good! I've never actually used a stair trainer, though. But I feel like I should try. I'm really curious to see how it compares to actual stair climbing (mainly in terms of step distance - I usually skip a step on actual stairs), and if it'd offer any training benefit.
For the record, 45 stories (wait... flights or stories?) is only two fewer than the US Bank Center in Milwaukee (that's 47 stories, 94 flights (two flights per story)). I don't know if the step total is comparable or not (do you know how many steps that came to on the machine?). Regardless, a time of about 10 minutes in 47 stories would place you around 300th out of 2,200-ish at the race they have there every March.
it said flights... i used to work in the us bank building. i'm not sure how it translates. if we go to the Y today i'll do my cardio on the stair machine and pay attention to what it says. lol! i don't think you could skip steps on the machine because of the way it's set up it would be sort of dangerous. it didn't feel challenging enough to be your calculations so i'm thinking that it's not accurate. i mean... the 45 flights is what the machine said but i'm not sure how accurate that is in "real life" if you catch my drift. i think my treadmill isn't calibrated correctly so who knows. without actually scampering up the stairs at the us bank building and timing it there'd be no true way of gauging it. someday i might just do that so that i can check it off the list. ;)

That sounds terribly painful! What does the rehab for that type of injury look like?

Sending get well soon wishes your way! What a bummer :(
Ugh! That sucks. Sorry to hear it. But at least you get some massages out of the whole deal. I mean, that's a positive, right?
